Leadership Team (LT)
Chair: Ellen Kisinger-Rothi
- Research and assess affordable housing resources and gaps
- Prioritize and coordinate countywide housing issues and strategies
- Raise and expand awareness about issues related to homelessness and housing gaps and services in the community
- Facilitate collaborations among providers and community stakeholders
- Foster community engagement in affordable housing solutions
- Initiate projects to promote affordable housing options and production
- Set indicator targets for achieving outcomes and track progress
- Serve as a catalyst and advocate for positive policy change in affordable housing and homelessness arenas
Community Outreach and Engagement Team (COE)
Co-chairs: Tobi Hanna-Davies and Pastor Milton Wells
- To promote the AHP mission.
- To develop and implement a communications and outreach strategy that will promote, inform, and engage the community and target audiences in the work of the AHP.
- To raise awareness about homelessness and affordable housing issues among policy and decision makers in order to impact policies and systems that will ensure improved access to housing and improved quality of life for vulnerable populations of people in Kalamazoo County.
- To advocate for elimination of homelessness and improved housing opportunities for low to moderate income households.
Community Services Team (CST)
Co-chairs: Peggy Gagen and Mike Childress
- To assure access to mainstream and other needed support services.
- View wraparound services from a systems perspective.
- Determine community need for support services.
- Research best practices and monitor delivery and quality of supportive services.
- Provide training and other technical assistance for housing and support services providers.
Data Coordination Team (DCT)
Co-chairs: Annie Wendt and Molly Petersen
- To collect and monitor homeless and housing data through the HMIS and other systems.
- Identify emerging needs.
- Provide data and reports to the LT and other sub-teams.
- Serve as receptacle for new data.
Resource and Housing Development Team (RAHD)
Co-chairs: Cindy Graham, David Artley, and Vicki Georgeau
- To work collaboratively to identify and seek resource streams, both monetary and in-kind, in order to maintain and grow the work and impact of the plan and its initiatives.
- To research and inventory housing needs and assets in Kalamazoo County.
- To work collaboratively with the for-profit and non-profit sectors to develop new and rehabilitate existing housing units to assure affordable housing is available for persons who are homeless, of low/moderate income, and for those with special needs.
Project Connect Team (PCT)
Chair: Jeff Brown
- To work collaboratively to organize a yearly Project Connect event, a day of free services for the materially poor in Kalamazoo County.
- Identify and engage non-profit service agencies, government, and the broader community in the planning and execution of the Project Connect event.
